Decry corrupt endorsements
With former Detroit City Council member Monica Conyers' bribery scandal still unfolding, it is amazing that some political organizations are still selling endorsements. These endorsements virtually ensure the victory of the candidate who pays to be on the endorsement list. City Council candidates James Tate and Herbie Felton have pledged not to play the paid endorsement game, and it's time for the rest of Detroit's candidates to follow suit and decry the price of corrupt politics.
